The biggest cause of divorce today is infidelity.  Adultery is a major problem that many marriages must face during the course of the marriage.  The signs of infidelity are many and varied and unless a spouse knows what some of these signs are they will remain ignorant of the infidelity.  What are some of the signs?  Here a few of the more common ones.

Unexpected or unexplained absence can also be another sign that there is a problem.  The cheating spouse who previously returned directly home after work may have some problems getting home on time.  Errands that take an inordinate amount of time is another signal.  A sudden new interest that requires the spouse to be away from home can be suspect.

A spouse who never bought clothes for months, may suddenly start updating their clothes with the latest fashion.  Buying undergarments and new lingerie is pretty common.  They have a new hairstyle or try a new perfume.  Its all about becoming a new person with a refreshed look, while they live with you.   You cannot miss these things, watch out. Look at the clothes ready to be washed for hints and clues about their day.

Strange telephone behavior, including an increased frequency in short calls consisting of mostly monosyllabic responses and strange numbers appearing on the caller ID or phone bill that you do not recognize and spouse denies knowledge of may be an indication that spouse is cheating.

Any of the items listed above could be a sign of other things when taken alone. Yet, as a group, these signs in any combination are indications that a spouse is probably cheating. There are many different explanations for these events, but knowing how to know if spouse is cheating is a complicated process. If you have a “gut feeling” that your spouse is cheating and any of these signs are present, you are probably right.
